Future Art and Culture Connect
As part of the Future Art and Culture programme, British Underground has collaborated with multicultural creative champion B3 Media to support four emerging artist/producers at SXSW. We are grateful to the SXSW team for offering complimentary passes to this delegation and to March Boothe from B3 Media for supporting the programme. This year’s delegates are:
Jay Oliver Yip
Jay Oliver Yip is an award-winning filmmaker and actor creating understated comedy about self-discovery. A B3 Media associate artist and Pact Diversity & Inclusion Scheme recipient, he is expanding into XR storytelling through B3 Media's TalentLab XR 2024 programme, merging traditional narrative with virtual reality.
Hannah Oliver
Hannah Oliver works across lens-based media, exploring DIY practices, living archives, and movement. Her work has been exhibited at Frieze London, Tate Modern, and the British Library. A participant in B3 Media's TalentLab XR 2024 programme, she is expanding her practice into immersive technologies while continuing to bridge traditional media boundaries.
Gary Riley
Gary Riley is a multidisciplinary creative practitioner working across animation, immersive technology, and narrative design. His practice explores the intersection of sci-fi, pop culture, and emerging technologies through VR/XR experiences. With a background in film and television (BBC, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network), he creates immersive narratives that amplify diverse urban voices. A participant in B3 Media's TalentLab XR 2024 programme, he continues to develop work that pushes the boundaries between traditional storytelling and emerging media while teaching as a Graphic Design lecturer.
